On Monday, MoviePass announced that you won’t be able to see one movie a day starting August 15th. Instead, you are limited to three movies a month for the price of $9.95. While MoviePass isn’t dead just yet, it also isn’t the incredible offer that it once was. Let’s look at some alternatives for MoviePass.
AMC STUBS A-LIST
Price: $19.95 A Month
What’s the Deal:
- See up to three movies a week and even watch three movies in one day if you want.

- Classic plans include one or two 2D tickets per month.
- Elite plans include two or three tickets for 2D or 3D movies and one ticket can be used for premium formats but only once every 30 days.

- You may be charged convenience fees from sites such as Fandango.

Cinemark Movie Club
Price: $8.99 per month for one 2D ticket.

- Add an additional ticket for $8.99.
- Pay an upcharge fee to see a premium format movie.
- No blackout dates.
- See new and blockbuster movies.
- Available at all Cinemark, Century, CinéArts, Tinseltown and Rave theater locations.
- Unused tickets roll over and never expire, and you can use up to three unused tickets in one day.
- No convenience fees.
- Receive a 20% discount on concessions and earn reward points from the Cinemark Connections loyalty program.
- Cancel at any time.
So as you can see, MoviePass is definitely not the only movie subscription service in town. You could argue that these MoviePass alternatives are even better than MoviePass now that they only allow you to see three movies a month.
