In a recent town hall meeting with staffers at his foundation, billionaire Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates addressed his links to Jeffrey Epstein. He also admitted that he had affairs with two Russian women when he was married to his ex-wife Melinda French Gates.

According to reports, 70-year-old Bill Gates held a town hall with employees at the Gates Foundation on Tuesday, February 24 and addressed renewed interest in his links to Jeffrey Epstein following the release of more Epstein-related files earlier this year.

Gates said that while he spent time with Epstein, both domestically and abroad, he “did not participate in any crime.” Gates also acknowledged the affairs he had with two Russian women.

“I did nothing illicit. I saw nothing illicit,” Gates said in the town hall meeting. “To be clear, I never spent any time with the victims, the women around him.I did have affairs, one with a Russian bridge player who met me at bridge events, and one with a Russian nuclear physicist who I met through business activities.” [via The Wall Street Journal]

Gates was one of many high-profile and ultra-wealthy people who were listed in the latest batch of Epstein files, including Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, Steven Tisch, Woody Johnson, Ehud Barak, Steve Bannon, Brett Ratner, Sergey Brin, and many more, after the United States Justice Department published over 3 million additional pages of Epstein documents — with more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images — in compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Among the unconfirmed allegations in the files was an email that alleged that Bill Gates contracted an STI from “Russian girls,” and that he then gave it to Melinda, leading him to ask Epstein for medicine he could slip her to cure it.

In a statement to NPR, a spokesperson for Bill Gates said that the allegations in the Epstein files are “absolutely absurd and completely false.”
