A family in Central Florida had their Taco Bell stolen by a hungry black bear who swiped the delivery off the home’s porch within a few short moments of the food being delivered.

The entire incident was caught on the home’s security camera. It happened so fast that one must assume the black bear was lurking nearby as the Uber Eats driver dropped off the Taco Bell and took a picture of the delivery, as is protocol, before the bear popped out of the bushes in under 3 minutes and stole the food.

Orlando’s Fox 35 Orlando picked up the story:

As you can imagine, the family was bewildered when they opened their door after 10 minutes and the Taco Bell wasn’t there. The Ring doorbell camera was easily able to confirm the Uber Eats driver had done their job and taken a photo of the delivery as proof. But then they saw that big ol’ bear running away with their food 3 minutes after it was dropped off. And honestly, this begs the question of WHY someone would pay delivery fees for Taco Bell?!

The incident occurred in Longwood, Florida which is north of Orlando near Altamonte Springs and right off I-4. It’s an interesting location for this to occur because Longwood is flanked by the urban sprawl of Orlando to the South but just to the northwest is the Rock Springs Run Wildlife Management Area, an area of 14,000+ acres that’s mostly untouched wilderness.

So while seeing a black bear cruising downtown Orlando seems HIGHLY unlikely, it is also not at all shocking this bear would show up to swipe Taco Bell if it popped on down from the Rock Springs Run Wildlife Management Area.

According to Laidy Gutierrez, black bears are very common in that area of Florida. It must be part of the wildlife corridor that connects to Southwest Florida where a bear was recently spotted on a luxury yacht inside of an exclusive marina.
