While most celebrities seem to be doing everything possible to distance themselves from Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Bow Wow has seemingly taken an alternative approach.
During a recent podcast interview, the former rapper and actor zigged where everyone else has been zagging as he lamented the lack of infamous “Diddy parties” following the indictment and arrest of the disgraced rapper and producer.
“I never thought I would see it like this. He’s like the gatekeeper to the game, to the point to where BET Award weekend, like the past two, it just didn’t feel right because there was no motion, there was no parties,” Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss, said on the More to the Story podcast.
“It’s like a hole. He was just such a gatekeeper for the liquor and the clubs. He was everything hip-hop. So for that to die out, you just really never thought. Especially when you look at somebody as somebody you studied, somebody you idolized.”
Combs was arrested by Homeland Security agents at a New York City hotel in September on federal charges of human trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Denied bail by a judge, Diddy is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, which former inmates have described as “pure hell.” FTX scammer Sam Bankman-Fried is among the prison’s current inmates.
According to federal authorities, Diddy, 54 years old, has allegedly conducted decades of organized “emotional, physical, verbal, and sexual abuse,” allegedly relying on the “employees, resources, and influence of the multifaceted business empire that he led and controlled, creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
Diddy has pled not guilty to the charges he faces. He faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison if convicted.
