California Woman Orders Crunchwrap Supreme. Then She Demands Answers From Taco Bell After Seeing What’s Hidden Inside

You’ve ordered food, you’ve settled down to eat it—and then you notice something isn’t quite right about it.

This experience is, unfortunately, fairly common. No matter how much we want a restaurants’ chefs and servers to get things right, mistakes happen. Sometimes, these mistakes are minor; other times, they risk endangering the health and safety of a diner.

But occasionally, one of these screw-ups will leave a customer with more questions than answers. Such is the case for California-based TikTok user Kelsey (@kezleyyy), who says her Crunchwrap Supreme from Taco Bell came with an unwelcome surprise.

What Went Wrong With This Taco Bell Order?

In a video with over 444,000 views, Kelsey calls out Taco Bell after a recent purchase at one of their locations.

“Taco Bell, you better count your f—— days, OK?” Kelsey starts.

Kelsey explains that, after biting into her Crunchwrap Supreme, she discovered something strange inside.

“What the f— is this?” she asks. She then shows a piece of plastic that has been tied into a knot. The plastic is covered in sauce. “Why is there a plastic bag?”

Kelsey speculates that the bag “might have ‘rugs’ in it.” According to Kelsey, she called the location from which she bought the item, but did not receive any answers as to what the plastic bag was.

“Why is that in my food? Did I eat that?” she asks. “I was literally mid-bite. Mid-bite, and I found that in my Crunchwrap.”

Commenters Have Theories

In the comments section, users immediately began to joke about Kelsey’s speculation that the bag contained drugs.

“What was your order…. word for word ….” wrote a user.

“People are dying Kelsey and you get a blessing,” offered another.

This is a reference to the idea that some fast-food locations secretly sell drugs. The way to purchase drugs from these locations, people say, is to place an order with specific wording, or order a specific combination of menu items.

There’s actually some precedent that shows this is a real phenomena. A fast food location was found to be selling drugs after police discovered that ordering “fries, extra crispy” would result in a drug offer.

This isn’t just localized to the United States, either. A German pizzeria was raided by police after it was discovered ordering a “number 40” resulted in the customer receiving a bag of cocaine.

However, some commenters claimed that wasn’t actually what was happening here. So, if it wasn’t that, what was it?

What Was This Thing In Her Crunchwrap Supreme?

According to one commenter, the explanation is rather boring.

“As a taco bell former employee it’s the top of a carry over bag,” wrote a user.

As other commenters elucidated, Taco Bell delivers its beef to workers in a plastic bag. The top of the bag looks like Kelsey’s mysterious object. Additionally, the top of the bag must be removed before the beef can be used.

In short, someone likely removed the top of the bag, then accidentally let it fall into Kelsey’s Crunchwrap Supreme.

Current and former Taco Bell employees in the comments emphasized that, while this was possible, there should have been more quality control measures in play to prevent this from happening in the first place. Additionally, workers should have been more mindful of their workspace and disposed of the plastic before it could accidentally get into someone’s meal.

“Shouldn’t have happened,” declared one former worker in the comments section. “no excuses.”
