Nearly all of us collected sports cards as a kid, and we all opened up something we thought was worth a lot of money. Now, sometimes that card was indeed pretty valuable. Maybe it was a rookie edition ofsomeone like Ken Griffey Jr. or Albert Pujols or Mike Trout, depending on how old you are.

But, most of the time, the cards were relatively worthless. The fun was opening them to see what you’d get, and reading the back of it to look at their stats.

But, some people collect cards to turn a profit. And, card-collecting saw a huge spike during the pandemic as many returned to the childhood homes with lots of time to spend on hobbies they had long forgotten. Boxes containing unopened packs of cards from decades ago all of a sudden started selling for high prices in the hopes that a valuable item would be inside.

While it’s died down since the heart of the pandemic, people are still grinding away. One collector hit it big.

A collector opened a rare signed LeBron James card worth up to $1 million

A lot of these card openings are streamed on social media, and they can be pretty entertaining. Most of them are duds, but one recent opening was not.

Whoa. That is quite the pull. That’s not just any Lebron James rookie. It’s one that has a jersey patch with it and an authenticated autograph. It’s going to be in perfect condition, as well. Cards are typically graded on their condition on a scale of 1-10. This one is likely a 10 right out of the package.

Congrats to this guy for his record-breaking pull.
