Charles Barkley believes that he and billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would be a formidable Presidential ticket. According to the Basketball Hall of Famer, he and Cuban would “definitely” win a Presidential election if they were to run together.
During a recent episode of The Steam Room podcast that Inside the NBA stalwarts Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson host, Mark Cuban, who was a guest on the show, was asked whether or not he would be interested in running for President on the same ticket as Barkley.
Cuban confidently proclaimed that the pair would easily in, which is an assessment that Barkley agreed with.
“Yes, absolutely,” Cuban said. “We would win running away. No question about it.”
“We’d win. We’d definitely win,” Barkley added, echoing Cuban’s confidence.
Cuban was a vocal supporter of Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 Presidential Election, as he launched the “Business Leaders for Harris” group during the campaign, which included business titans such as himself, Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, former Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier, former American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault and Box CEO Aaron Levie.
Barkley also publicly endorsed Harris — both he and Cuban have been vocal critics of President-elect Donald Trump for many years.
“If I see a Black person walking around with a Trump mug shot, I’m gonna punch him in the face,” Barkley famously said of the 2024 Presidential election earlier this year.
The idea that Cuban — 66 years old, has a reported net worth of $5.7 billion — and Barkley would be a competitive Presidential ticket certainly isn’t without the realm of possibility considering the way American politics have shifted over the last decade.
