Kansas City Woman Goes To Chili’s. Then She Finds Something Absolutely Shocking In Her Caesar Salad: ‘Triple Dipper Would Never Do That To Me’

A Chili’s customer in Kansas City left viewers shocked and disgusted after showing what she found in her salad mid-meal.

In a video that has garnered over 1.9 million views, TikTok creator Josie (@josiecaroline21) digs into her Caesar salad before stopping to show something moving inside.

“That is a grasshopper,” someone says in the background as she zooms in on it.

In the caption, she adds, “Alexa, play ‘I Am Not Okay’ by JellyRoll.”

Commenters Are Shocked

In the comments section, viewers found the sight unappetizing at the least.

“It’s these moments that keep me eating at home so thank you for that,” one person wrote.

“Oh my god i would cry,” someone wrote. “HES ALIVE.”

“Chilis tripper dipper would never do that to me,” said another.

“AINT NO WAY,” wrote a third. “As a waitress I would 100% comp your meal and be so embarrassed that happened holy shhhhhh.”

Has This Happened Before At Chili’s?

While this should never happen to a customer, and there’s little to excuse an incident like this, data shows that restaurants don’t always handle leafy vegetables properly.

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report says that in recent years, leafy greens have been linked to foodborne illnesses.

The study found that over half of the leafy green shipments observed were not delivered at the proper temperature to prevent the growth of germs.

Other customers have reported similar experiences with their Chili’s salads, including a family who says they found a bug and a woman who claims she found a maggot.

What to Do In This Situation?

The first action LegalMatch experts recommend taking is documenting the incident with video and photos. This can serve as proof down the line if you experience any illness and want to seek damages.

However, the site does note that winning a case against a restaurant after finding bugs or insects in your food is unlikely. These cases are expensive and often end up costing more than the damages you might recover.

To help the community, it’s also a good idea to file a complaint with your local health department. In Kansas City, you can do that by calling (816) 513-6315 to request an inspector be sent to the restaurant. Residents can also file a complaint online through the myKCMO app.
