Woman Waits 45 Minutes In Chipotle Line. Then The Worker’s Response Has Her Convinced The Chain ‘Hates Its Customers’: ‘I Didn’t Expect That’

A woman says she waited 45 minutes in line at Chipotle during a BOGO (buy one, get one) event, when workers allegedly told her she couldn’t use the promotion. But after she posted the receipt, viewers pointed out something she missed.

In a video that has garnered over 3.2 million views, TikTok creator Audra (@audrabeann) says a trip to Chipotle left her feeling “disrespected” after what she thought was a denied promotion.

Chipotle scammed me,” she wrote in the video’s text overlay.

Sitting in her car, she explains what happened. “I just waited in line for this for 45 minutes for their buy one, get one burrito promotion they’re doing today, only for me to get to the counter, and her to tell me no,” she says. “Girl, what do you mean, no?”

She shows the line she walked into, filming a packed restaurant. “This is the line I was up against when I walked in at 3:15 p.m.,” she says. “And, like, girl, the new chicken al pastor was fire… I was willing to wait for it.”

The Chipotle Worker Told Her She Couldn’t Get The Deal

In the clip, she walks up to the counter and asks about the promotion.

“Hey, happy Friday the 13th. Is it too late for the buy one, get one?” she asks.

After being told no, she pushes back. “I just waited in line for 45 minutes, and I can’t do the buy one, get one free?”

“Yeah,” the worker responds. “Really?” she asks.

Then, it appears another worker says she can use the promotion, so she goes ahead and orders.

“I’m gonna do two burritos, I guess,” she says. “I just want protein in them. I’m gonna do the Al Pastor Chicken, please.”

She Checks the Receipt

Back in her car, she says she checked her receipt and believed she had been charged for both items.

“I really thought my hard work paid off, only to get back to the car, check the receipt, and realize they did charge me for two items,” she says.

However, the pricing shown in the video tells a different story.

The receipt shows each burrito priced at $4.45.

“Ok apparently @Chipotle hates their customers,” she wrote in the caption.

Viewers Called Her Out

In the comments, many viewers pointed out that the promotion appeared to have been applied.

“Did you read the receipt? They charged you half price for each burrito. In other words, you got one full burrito free!” one person wrote.

“No one else noticed the receipt actually has the buy one get one deal on it…” another said.

Others didn’t catch on.

“Never ask if you are too late,” a third wrote.

“If you were in line before the cut off, it should be honored,” another added. “I say that as a shift lead/manager from a different company.”

Did She Get the BOGO Deal?

Based on the receipt shown in the video, it looks like she did.

Chicken al pastor protein usually costs around $9.45. But on her receipt, each burrito is priced at $4.45, which splits the cost across both instead of showing one as free.

At Chipotle, BOGO deals are typically applied to entrées, like burritos or bowls, not individual add-ons. The chain runs these promotions from time to time, sometimes for a full day and sometimes for just a few hours.

Even though Audra appeared to have arrive late, it seems like staff still applied the offer to her order.
