Chris Brown apparently did not enjoy the Investigation Discovery docuseries Chris Brown: A History of Violence. Because he just filed a $500 million defamation lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery for airing it.

Page Six reports that Chris Brown is suing for libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress through defamatory claims made against him. Perhaps that has something to do with the docuseries making him look like, as court documents state, “a serial rapist and a sexual abuser.”

Brown claims the producers of the docuseries based their story on a $20 million lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe that was dismissed “because it was full of lies” and “sensationalized debunked claims to drive viewership and revenue.” His lawyer, Levi McCathem, claimed “the producers of this documentary intentionally promoted false and defamatory information.”

Brown also claims that because of the program, his reputation and career have suffered after years of trying to rebuild his image. He added that the docuseries undermined “the credibility of true survivors of violence.”

The docuseries was released in October 2024. The Jane Doe lawsuit was dismissed “without prejudice” in August 2022 when no one for either side showed up for a hearing. The alleged attack occurred in December 2020.

The alleged victim had claimed that Brown raped her while she was at a yacht party at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mansion off the coast of Miami. She also said that she believed she had been drugged by something that was put into her drink.

“I don’t remember if I saw him pour it, but I just drank it and he just hands me another drink,” the woman recalled Chris Brown: A History of Violence. “As I’m standing there, I did start to feel kind tired and my body was feeling a little heavy.”

Numerous alleged victims of Diddy have made similar claims over the four years since Jane Doe’s alleged attack at one of Combs’ parties.
