Cosby Show actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, known for his role as Theo Huxtable, has died at 54, according to multiple reports.

TMZ first reported Warner’s death due to accidental drowning.

“TMZ has a reliable source who says Warner has died as a result of an accidental drowning.”

People Magazine confirmed the actor’s death, but was unable to reach his reps.

“The actor was in Costa Rica on a family vacation and drowned while swimming, a source confirms to PEOPLE.”

“A rep for Warner did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”

Warner left behind a wife and a daughter.

Fans paid tribute to the actor on social media.
