The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have been an iconic and beloved squad for decades, recently gaining worldwide notoriety after being featured in a Netflix documentary.
While fan admiration comes with the territory, there’s a line. One husband of a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader says he ran into a fan who crossed it.
TikTok creator John (@johnmichael.daniel), whose video has gotten over 2.2 million views, shared what he calls “one of the creepiest things” that’s ever happened to him at a game.
What Did The ‘Creepy’ Man Do?
“Creeper showed me his photo album of my wife,” John wrote in the video’s text overlay.
“My wife is a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, and this is probably one of the creepiest things that’s ever happened to me at a game,” he says.
He explains that he was in the stands talking about his wife, Tori, when an “old man” nearby struck up a conversation.
“Are you here for Tori, too?” the man asks, to which John responded, “Yeah.”
“He’s like, ‘Yeah, man. She’s my favorite,’” the man reportedly said.
When John told the man that Tori is actually his wife, the fan reacted with excitement. “Dude, no way… she’s gorgeous. Congrats,” he recalls the man saying.
Then He Pulled Out His Phone
The man then reportedly offers to show him something.
“He’s like, I actually got so many photos of Tori. Do you wanna see?” John says.
Out of curiosity, he agreed. “He then proceeded to show me an entire album he had in his phone labeled Tori with hundreds of zoomed-in shots of just her,” he says.
Some of the images, he adds, didn’t even include her face.
“If that gives you an idea of what these kind of photos were,” he says.
As the man scrolls, John says he kept reacting to the photos and zooming in.
“He’s going, ‘That one’s good. … That one’s good,’” he recalls. “I was like, ‘All right, man. This is weird.’”
He Says The Fan Offered To Send The Photos
“He then proceeds to ask me, ‘Do you want me to send you these?’” he says.
John says he immediately declined. “Brother, that’s my wife in your phone,” he remembers thinking.
He adds that he had only agreed to look out of curiosity.
“I was just curious what kind of photos you had in your phone,” he says.
Afterward, a friend asked him if this kind of thing happens often.
This has never even remotely happened to me at a game,” he says.
He ends the video with a message to the fan.
“If you’re that old man that showed me an entire album… please don’t show that to anybody else,” he says. “Especially anyone related to any of those girls.”
Viewers Say He Should Have Reacted Differently
In the comments, many viewers felt the situation called for a stronger response.
“And you didn’t defend her at all?” one person wrote.
“You’re under reacting I feel,” another added.
Some focused on the man’s behavior. “A labeled photo album is veryyyy creepy,” a third wrote.
Inappropriate Behavior In The Cheerleading World
Inappropriate behavior and even sexual harassment has been a recurring issue for cheerleaders.
Speaking to the Chicago Sun-Times, one former Northwestern University cheerleader reported being “groped, assaulted, and subjected to incessant sexual comments” during her time on the squad.
When she spoke up, the university allegedly denied any wrongdoing.
The Dallas Cowboys have also faced scrutiny, though not involving fans. In 2022, the team reportedly paid $2.4 million to four cheerleaders who accused a team executive of voyeurism in their locker room in 2015.
These concerns may have impacted how the squad handles interactions with fans. As shown in the documentary, fans are given a football to hold during photos with cheerleaders so there’s no physical contact.
