Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is waiting out his May trial for federal charges at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. The “MDC” is one of the most notorious prisons in the country, with former inmates describing it as being “pure hell.”
Diddy was arrested in a New York City hotel on federal charges on September 16. Diddy was arraigned, pled not guilty, and was denied bail. The disgraced rapper and producer has been at the MDC ever since, where his inmates include the likes crypto fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried.
Despite the heinous reputation of the Metropolitan Detention Center, Diddy and his fellow prisoners will be getting a bit of special treatment on Christmas day, which will include games and special meals.
According to TMZ, Diddy and the MDC prisoners will be allowed to partake in a Spades tournament, a dominos competition, 3-vs-3 basketball, and soccer.
Following their activities, the MDC inmates will then be provided a Christmas lunch of baked Cornish hen, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and a ‘holiday dessert.’ TMZ adds it will, be “back to the normal slop” for dinner.
As mentioned above, previous inmates at the Metropolitan Detention Center have described it as being “pure hell” and a “terrible, horrible” place.
“‘It’s a terrible, horrible place,’ an inmate who spent three months in MDC in 2019 says. ‘There’s no air movement, and the food is slop.’”
“Diddy may be subjected to regular strip searches, limited shower access and little contact with loved ones, not to mention the threat of violence. Prison consultant Sam Mangel describes sections of the facility as ‘pure hell,’ adding, ‘The MDC is probably the worst federal detention center in the country.’” [via US Weekly]
If convicted on his federal charges, Diddy faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison. Diddy is also facing a litany of sexual abuse lawsuits, many of which were filed by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who also represented Deshaun Watson’s accusers.
