A longtime close friend of Sean Combs, AKA Diddy, claims another inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn snuck into the cell of the disgraced music mogul and held a knife to his throat while he was sleeping. Diddy’s attorney Brian Steel corroborated the story during Combs’ sentencing.
Diddy’s pal, record producer Charlucci Finney, said he wasn’t sure if the inmate who was armed with a shiv was stopped by Combs or by the guards, but that the rapper could have easily been killed. Diddy’s attorney stated during the sentencing hearing that it was a guard who stopped the threat. He also stated that the prisoner was trying to earn “prestige” by going after Diddy.
“He woke up with a knife to his throat,” Finney told the Daily Mail. “I don’t know whether he fought him off or the guards came, I just know that it happened.”
“If this guy had wanted to harm him, Sean would have been harmed. It would only take a second to cut his throat with a weapon and kill him,” said Finney. “It was probably a way to say: ‘Next time you ain’t gonna be so lucky.’ Everything is intimidation. But with Sean it won’t work. Sean is from Harlem.”
Where will Diddy end up spending his time in prison?
Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted of two counts of violating the Mann Act. He is expected to be transferred out of MDC to another prison soon. His lawyers have been lobbying for him to be moved to FCI Fort Dix, a low security facility, in Hanover Township, New Jersey.
“Sean has kept a lot of this stuff to himself because he doesn’t want to worry his family,” Finney claimed. “But if you’re in jail and you’ve been charged with anything sexual it’s not a good place to be. The prisoners take it personal. They look at it like, it could have been my mom, my auntie, my daughter. They try to get what they call prison justice. And you have to understand, we are not talking about a regular person. We’re talking about Diddy.”
Shortly before his sentencing, Sean Combs released a statement pleading for mercy from the judge. He claimed in the letter that the “old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn.”
Meanwhile, one of Diddy’s alleged victims, his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, asked the judge, prior to sentencing, to consider “the many lives that Sean Combs has upended with his abuse and control.” She also stated that she still has “nightmares and flashbacks on a regular, everyday basis, and continue to require psychological care” as a result of Diddy’s actions.
