The first trailer for Disclosure Day, the latest movie from legendary director Steven Spielberg, has been released. The sci-fi event film is will be released in theaters on June 12, 2026.
Science fiction is arguably the genre that Steve Spielberg is best known for, having previously directed Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, War of the Worlds, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (unfortunately), and Ready Player One.
Disclosure Day, which stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and Eve Hewson, sees Spielberg return to the genre that he helped define.
Based on an original story by Spielberg, the script was written by David Koepp, who previously collaborated with Spielberg on Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

“If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day,” reads Universal Pictures’ official synopsis, which calls the project a “new original event film.”
Alongside the main cast, Wyatt Russell, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Michael Gaston, Elliot Villar, Tommy Martinez, Patricia Conolly, Noah Robbins, Chavo Guerro Jr., Lance Archer, Brian Cage, and Gabby Beans.
Spielberg’s most recent projects have been smaller, more personal films, having last directed The Fabelmans in 2022 and West Side Story in 2021.
