‘File A Report. Have It Tested. Press Charges’: Kentucky Woman DoorDashes A Taco Bell’s Mountain Dew Baja Midnight. Then She Spots Something Suspicious In The Cup

What’s the worst thing that could happen to your food delivery?

In most cases, food delivery errors are small and easy to fix. For example, a driver forgets an item, your food arrives cold, or something else goes wrong that makes your order less than satisfactory.

However, one internet user says that a recent DoorDash order left her worrying—and with a bad feeling in her stomach.

What’s Going On With This Taco Bell Mountain Dew Baja Blast?

In a video with over 1.9 million views, TikTok user Grace (@graciegracee05) shows herself pouring out a cup of Mountain Dew Baja Midnight from Taco Bell.

At the bottom of the cup, one can see a slimy, white substance. As she tips the cup, the liquid pours out, though the substance does not move.

“DoorDash… wtf?” she writes in the video’s overlay text. In the caption, she notes that she did not drink it. Furthermore, she says she has been contacted by both DoorDash and Taco Bell.

While she states that she did not drink the beverage, she says that she did eat the meal.

“I did eat the food though.. I got this Saturday night around midnight,” she writes in a comment. “It’s currently Monday afternoon, I am having the worst stomach bug.”

Commenters Fear The Worst

In the comments section, many users offered their thoughts about what could have happened to this drink.

“That actually looks like a pill dissolved. Have it tested, report it immediately!!!” wrote a user.

“As someone who worked at Taco Bell for about two years, this has never randomly appeared in any of the drinks I made. This is definitely a gift from the DoorDasher,” declared another.

However, some had more innocent explanations.

“Looks like sugar crystals from the freezes.. they messed up and put freeze in it at first before the soda.. I’ve done this so many times it’s ridiculous,” explained a commenter. “As a new worker there, I dint understand there was a difference with the freezes so it could’ve been a rookie mistake.. I’ve done it more times I can count.”

“$20 says it’s sugar and that’s the end of the Baja blast at that restaurant. They just need to change the flavor bag in the machine,” speculated a second.

Other Possible Explanations

While there do not appear to be other cases of this exact situation happening online, some have noted issues with their own sodas that are similar to what Grace experienced.

For example, one user on Reddit alleged his Baja Blast was served looking pale and foamy. Commenters in this thread speculated that the restaurant accidentally served him a viral “dirty Baja Blast.” This is a Baja Blast with added creamer.

There’s also a chance that Grace is observing a form of mold or residue due to improperly cleaned soda machines.

Finally, for those saying that the DoorDash driver must have messed with her order, incidents of this happening are rare, but not unheard of. One customer called the police after a delivery driver allegedly pepper sprayed their order. Another caught their driver dropping a chicken wing, then picking it up off the ground and putting it back in the box.

Users Have Solutions

Other commenters said that, to alleviate fears about possible tampering, more restaurants should be adding anti-tampering measures to their delivery orders.

“Mcdonalds the only one with the best anti tampering,” wrote a user. Another wrote in response, “I was about to say that. They put it all in a sealed bag within a bag. So does Dunkin’ and Starbucks.”

“NEVER order a drink with door dash. Only sealed items,” suggested a second user.

For her part, Grace writes in a comment that the drink “had one sticker covering the straw hole, but not down the side of the cup, which would easily be able to be opened.”
