American comedian Drew Desborden, aka Druski’s new NASCAR skit has got the internet divided.
Druski can be seen as an American whiteface Patriot dancing and driving at the last weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race. He was unrecognizable as he dressed in full whiteface with chest tattoos, mullet hairstyle with a cowboy hat and a farmer’s tan at the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
On September 2, Druski posted the viral skit video and captioned it, “WhiteBoy that’s accepted by the Hood.” The comedian took the skit to NASCAR this time which is being called one of the best skits made by him.
Just hours after its release, the video received 19.4 million Insta views, with 1.5 million likes and 135,000 comments. It also went viral on TikTok with 11.6 million views and on X with 78 million views.
While some found his skit absolutely hilarious, others heavily criticized it. Over the last few years, Druski has grabbed eyeballs as an internet personality. He is famous for his viral skits with 9.6 million followers on Instagram, 9.4 million on TikTok, 1.5 million on X, and 3.7 million on YouTube.
Following his rise to fame, Druski launched Coulda Been Records in 2019, a satirical talent show that blends comedy with music industry parody. In February 2024, he launched his YouTube reality show Coulda Been House, where he interviewed several celebrities including J. Cole, Lil Baby, and Drake.
Druski told Rolling Stone, he said, “We don’t need anybody to tell us we can be on that TV show, or to kiss up to somebody to try to get in that door. I think it’s just amazing that I can create my fan base.”

While some found Druski hilarious, creative, and a satirical genius, others called him a hypocrite. A side of the internet claimed that if a white guy had dressed as a black person, it would have been racist. Some even said that it’s only racist if a white person did the same, not the other way round.
One commented, “As a white person, this doesn’t offend me as much as the hypocrisy does.”
Druski’s fame isn’t just a matter of luck; the guy definitely brought a new wave to “woke comedy.” After attending the recent NBA All-Star Game as a featured guest, the comedian has emerged as a champion of woke comedy.
Today, Druski is reclaiming the word “woke” from white liberals who use it to describe their gender nonconformity and by some conservatives as a defamatory term.
