Eric Andre Jokes About Getting A Real Concussion After Shooting Scene With John Cena For New Season Of ‘Eric Andre Show’

The newest season of “The Eric Andre Show” debuts on Adult Swim this week and host Eric Andre is making the rounds on TV promoting season number 5.

Andre was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and recalled – from his absurdly tall lifeguard chair – how a scene with former WWE-star-turned-actor John Cena sent him to the hospital with a concussion.

Andre explains that the accident wasn’t Cena’s fault at all.

In the stunt, Cena throws Andre through a metal shelf. The shelf wasn’t set up correctly and a piece fell and smashed Andre right on the top of his newly bald head.

“John Cena did the stunt right,” Andre told Jimmy Kimmel, “but we prepped for the stunt wrong, that metal shelf came over and clocked me in the head, and I got concussed, and went to the hospital. I went to the hospital immediately. I had like a Bugs Bunny, Fred Flintstone [bump] on the side of my head.”

Andre joked that he “wasn’t able to speak English” after the accident.

The comedian also discusses taking a four year hiatus from the show, being on Kimmel just before Covid-19 hit and the duo joking about the virus, and rescuing a shark.

Here’s the entire interview from “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Season 5 of “The Eric Andre Show” premieres Sunday, October 25th at midnight, on Adult Swim.
