As the UEFA EURO 2024 takes place across ten world-class soccer stadiums across Germany, English and Scottish fans are drinking the country dry. The United Kingdom showed up thirsty!

Both U.K. fanbases have put on an impressive display of boozing over the last week.

The Scots got things started last Friday when the Tartan Army descended upon Munich. Woerners’ bar is located in the city center, known as ‘Marienplatz.’ It was entirely unprepared.

Scottish fans drank the taps empty within hours of arrival. Woerners completely ran out of beer long before the match got underway.

The lack of hops did not stop the Scottish faithful from getting rowdy. They just switched to the hard stuff and kept the party going. Approximately 4% of the country’s entire population made the trip!

Woerners’ shortcomings sent panic across the entire city. Munich bars and beer gardens immediately called up on their suppliers to deliver hundreds of thousands of pints overnight for what they deemed ‘Scot-tober fest.’ It was ultimately an overwhelming success.

The Scottish party has since continued on to Cologne but it has not slowed down!

Meanwhile, British soccer fans are also putting in work.

Approximately 40,000 Englishmen and women descended upon Gelsenkirchen for their country’s EURO 2024 opener. Gelsenkirchen is a town of less than 270,000 in population.

Its bar scene is not big and GE Piazza became thee unofficial headquarters of Three Lions supporters.

The Italian restaurant and pub sold more than 7,5000 pints of beer in less than 26 hours. Its manager, Umit Yavuz, told The Mirror that the bar would normally go through about two kegs in a weekend. It went through more than 60 kegs before the match concluded. That comes out to approximately two months of beer in less than 48 hours.

England supporters have since followed their team to Frankfurt and kept things rolling.

Fortunately, the early issues with a lack of booze has been resolved. Woerners’ issues with the Scots served as a warning for the rest of Germany so bars are better prepared!
