Sean Combs, AKA Diddy, has once again found himself embroiled in yet another lawsuit. The latest legal action taken against the currently incarcerated rapper was taken by fashion designer Bryana “Bana” Bongolan.
In her lawsuit filed last week in Los Angeles, Bongolan is seeking $10 million in damages for emotional distress, sexual battery, and false imprisonment. Diddy, who is currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, denies her allegations.
Among the allegations brought forth by Bongolan is an incident that she says happened in 2016 at the home of Diddy’s then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The fashion designer claims that she was spending the night at Ventura’s home when Diddy showed up and started “violently” yelling and banging on the door after one of his alleged “freak off” parties.
After gaining entry to the home, Bongolan claims Diddy confronted her on the balcony on the 17th floor. It was there she says Combs molested her then lifted her up and dangled her over the edge of the balcony.
“He immediately lifted her up higher and higher over the 17th floor balcony of Ms. Ventura’s apartment with only Combs’ grip keeping her from falling to her death,” the lawsuit claims, adding, “Recognizing the threat of so many witnesses to his assault, (Combs) pulled Ms Bongolan back over the balcony. But he did not release her. In a last fit of violence, he slammed Ms Bongolan onto the balcony’s patio furniture, including a table.”
Bongolan claims in the lawsuit that she “attempted to resist him, throwing her weight back in a desperate struggle to avoid being thrown to the ground and likely to her death,” but that Diddy “easily overpowered her” as she weighed only about 100 pounds at the time of the alleged attack. In a lawsuit filed by Ventura in 2023 that was quickly settled, Combs’ ex-girlfriend noted that he “picked up one of Ms. Ventura’s friends like a child and dangled the friend over the balcony.”
She says she has no idea what triggered the attack, but that it was a “culmination of a series of threats, intimidation and violence that colored many of Ms. Bongolan’s interactions with Mr. Combs from the day she met him.”
“The only purpose of dangling someone over a balcony is to actually kill them or to intentionally terrorize them and rob them of any concept of dominion over their own bodily autonomy and safety,” the lawsuit reads. “Ms. Bongolan refuses to allow this fear to control the rest of her life and brings this action to demand that Mr. Combs takes responsibility.”
Bongolan also claimed in her lawsuit, the 30th that has now been filed against the rapper, that at one point in their relationship, Diddy told her, “I’m the mother-f—— devil. You have no idea what I could do to you. I could kill you.”
In response to her lawsuit, a legal representative for Combs told Rolling Stone, “Since last year, Ms. Bongolan has expressed an intention to sue Mr. Combs and has sought legal representation to pursue her claims. Mr. Combs firmly denies these serious allegations and remains confident they will ultimately be proven baseless.”
