The first teaser trailer for the new film in the Final Destination franchise is going viral for introducing a new fear to its audience. Final Destination 2, released in 2003, famously had the unique long-lasting effect of making millennial who saw it terrified to drive behind hauling trucks.
Staying true to the franchise’s form, the teaser trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines includes unsuspecting people being brutally killed by everyday occurrences in life, such as enjoying a drink at a party. In traditional Final Destination, however, that drink had some glass mixed in with the ice, unlocking a whole new fear for movie fans.
The “glass shard in bar drink” bit of the teaser trailer went particularly viral on social media, with many users it comparing it to past traumas introduced by the Final Destination franchise.
And now I can add “glass shard in bar drink” to my list of fears. Neat! https://t.co/kXoq1IbJsx pic.twitter.com/liPSYcR2Mi

One viral tweet, explicitly exclaiming that the new trailer has resulted in a “new fear being unlocked,” racked up over 558,000 likes and 21 million views on social media.
Even Bar Rescue star Jon Taffer — who has likely encountered broken glass in an ice box before — got in on the fun.
