On Tuesday, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida announced that a federal court had indicted a 46-year-old man on one count of threat upon the President of the United States.
At the United States Courthouse in Pensacola, Florida, the defendant made his first appearance before United States Magistrate Judge Hope T. Cannon. The judge set his trial for April 6, 2026.
The U.S. Department of Justice reported that the United States Secret Service and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. If convicted, the defendant faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to NorthEscambia.com, the defendant made threats to the life of President Donald Trump via emails, phone calls, and in person. Messages included “I’m planning on murdering Donald trump [sic],” and “He’s VERY dangerous and I’ll stop at nothing to stop him.”
The defendant made several more threats towards President Trump after his arrest
After the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office transported him to Lakeview Center for evaluation, he reportedly made numerous verbal statements to the intake staff at the facility, threatening to take the life of President Trump.
While at Lakeview, Secret Service agents met the defendant, and he told them “he had been waiting a long time to speak” with them. He also stated, according to court documents, “I have been sending emails and making phone calls for a year trying to get arrested.”
On the CIA website, the defendant wrote, “The murder of Donald Trump! He should know in 5 days I’ll publicly [redacted] him up if I don’t have my phone back. It’ll just be a fun little thing I do to him. He should really kiss my a–, I’ll even keep it a secret!”
Police also arrested the defendant in October 2025 in California for threats against the President after he allegedly made a 911 call and advised that he had “a great plan to assassinate Donald Trump.”
