Anyone who’s ever worked a job that involves a significant amount of driving will tell you that weird things can happen out on the road.
Sometimes, these road events are pretty easy to explain, from rideshare customers who demand to be driven 10 hours to their destination to people making food deliveries in luxury cars. However, other times, what one sees on the road defies understanding.
Recently, an Uber driver shared a story like this to TikTok, leaving all 1 million viewers scratching their heads.
Where Did This Passenger Go?
In his video, TikTok user Bryan (@bryan_the_arranger) recounts a strange thing that happened after dropping off an Uber passenger in Sarasota, Florida.
According to Bryan, he had a teen passenger request a ride to a barbershop. After being dropped off, the teen went inside and appeared to request a haircut.
Thinking nothing of it, Bryan decided to drive around to look for parking. Realizing that there was parking right in front of the barbershop—and receiving a request for a ride at the same location—he decided to return. Believing that the next ride he was picking up was someone from the barbershop, he parked and looked inside the window. When he did, something strange happened.
“I get to the door, and I see, like, ‘We are closed.’ So I’m like, ‘OK, that must have been, like, their last customer,’” Bryan says. “But then I walk back over to the window here…[to] see if I can get somebody’s attention. … The lights are off. There’s nobody in here. There’s nothing happening.”
Bryan became baffled by where the person could have gone.
“Like, I don’t understand,” he states. “Is there a portal that I just went into or something? Weird AF.”
Commenters Share Their Paranormal Experiences
Bryan’s bizarre encounter led many users to share their own experiences with everyday mysteries, from strange encounters to casual oddities.
“Literally happened to me and my friends on vacay in New Orleans. we were in line to go into a club, music pumping, lights flashing through the door, smoke billowing. out of nowhere cops come up telling everyone ‘no loitering move along’ we start scrambling with the crowd, look back and it’s a completely boarded building. nothing there. we were standing around with homeless people,” alleged a user.
“I watched a guy get hit on a bicycle fly up in the air his groceries went everywhere the bike was dismantled and the driver kept going so I followed the driver to make sure he turned around and he did however when we got back to the scene (which was 2 minutes) the guy the bike and groceries were all gone like it never happened. Me and the driver just looked at each other like wtf,” detailed a second.
“This kinda happened to me , I went to a post office one day to mail my rent ( Landlord had a old system during that time) and my rent money got lost in transit. I went back a day or two later to get some information as to what happened, and the post office wasn’t there like it never existed. Couldn’t find it on the maps or anything,” shared a further TikToker. “Until this day, I don’t know what the heck happened.”

What Happened To Him?
However, others simply attempted to figure out what happened to the original passenger.
“The teen you dropped off was being dropped off at their parents job,” speculated a user. “They left together, likely out the back door because parking for employees in an area like that is usually behind the building. They closed up and left when the teen got there.”
Bryan countered that it looked like the person was there to get a haircut. Other commenters said that this may be common for those who spend a lot of time in a barbershop.
“Okay so my parents used to own a hair salon! I feel like this is it,” said a user in response. “Sometimes, at the shop, I’d sit in the chair, look in the mirror, and analyze my hair, making a list of what needed to be done for next time ~ like you know when you catch yourself in the mirror, and you’re like ‘damn l really need a haircut soon.’”
So was it just a family member or friend stopping by? Or did something paranormal happen? Bryan isn’t sure. But he’s definitely a bit freaked out.
