The frozen Iguanas in Florida are becoming delicious meals for some.
A cold front this week has left many South Florida iguanas cold-stunned and falling out of trees.
Green iguanas are considered an invasive species that harms the natural habitat, and locals are permitted to humanely kill them year-round.
One woman, Jessica Kilgore of Iguana Solutions. went viral when she said they planned to transport hundreds of frozen iguanas to Trinidad to have them cooked and eaten.
“So a lot of different cultures eat iguanas, and they eat the eggs, and they eat the legs and the tail. So these are easy snacks falling out of the trees this morning.”

A South Florida pizzeria has taken Kilgore’s idea a step further, making an “iguana pizza” from frozen iguanas.
On Monday, local trapper Ryan Izquierdo brought some frozen iguanas to the North Palm Beach pizza restaurant Bucks Coal Fired so they could make him an iguana pizza.
The video of the iguana pizza has gone viral on Instagram, garnering over 1 million views.
Izquierdo spoke to CBS News Miami about the iguana pizza video.
“We were able to do good work and remove the iguanas and educate people, and it was just a great time,” Izquierdo said. “The last 48 hours have been one to look back on forever for sure.”
