The first teaser trailer for Good Fortune, the feature film directorial debut from actor and comedian Aziz Ansari, has been released. The R-rated comedy also stars Hollywood heavyweights Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen alongside Ansari.

Hitting theaters on October 7, Good Fortune stars the legendary Keanu Reeves as an angel named Gabriel who has become bored with his menial tasks and wants the responsibility for saving someone’s soul, which leads him to Ansari’s character Arj.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Good Fortune — which will be R-rated — follows “an angel named Gabriel (Reeves), who tries to show a struggling gig worker, Arj (Ansari), that money can’t buy happiness by body-swapping him with his wealthy employer, Jeff (Seth Rogen).”

“Keanu’s one of these guys who’s in pretty rarefied air. You don’t see him around. He’s still pretty mysterious. He’s one of the few guys who still has this real movie star aura,” Ansari said of working with the iconic action star.

Good Fortune marks the first time that Reeves has starred in a non-franchise film/sequel since he played himself in the 2019 rom-com Always Be My Maybe.

Ansari also told EW that with Good Fortune, he and Seth Rogen are hoping to “revive the kind of R-rated comedies that Rogen helped keep alive in the late aughts and 2010s.”

In addition to Reeves, Ansari and Rogen, Good Fortune also stars Sandra Oh, Keke Palmer, and Stephen McKinley Henderson. Good Fortune will be released in movie theaters in the United States on Friday, October 7.

This summer also sees Reeves star in Ballerina, which hits theaters on June 6. His additional upcoming projects also include the Jonah Hill-directed black comedy Outcome and Ruben Ostlund’s The Entertainment System Is Down.
