Finding and appreciating great walking sticks is in our DNA. We see a good stick on a hike and it stays with us for that entire hike. Truly great sticks might make it to the car for the ride home or we might share a picture of it in the group chat or on social media to spread the love because we know that everyone who is anyone appreciates a great stick.
Sometimes in life, fortunate individuals happen up on legendary sticks. There is an entire social media feed named ‘Stick Nation‘ devoted to guys sharing the epic sticks they find in the wild… And then there’s this one below which I believe to be the greatest stick ever found.
Irishman Transforms Greatest Stick Ever
Eoin Reardon goes by ‘pintofplane’ on TikTok and Instagram. He is a very talented craftsman and woodworker from Count Cork, Ireland. And his latest video on TikTok is exploding with 4.6 million views in the past few days.
This is no ordinary stick, it is emblematic of all the magic of Ireland. It would look perfectly at home on the set of Harry Potter as an elaborate wizard’s wand. And even if you don’t agree that this is the single greatest stick of all time you must acquiesce that this stick has a je ne sais quoi about it that draws people to it like a moth to a flame.
The stick in question is a “Hazel Stick With A Honeysuckle Twist.” If that means nothing to you, no matter. You will soon be enamored with the stick.

What Goes Into A Great Stick?
The elements of a great stick are (1) unique and (2) majestic. Beyond that we’re splitting hairs.
This stick comes from Hazel wood (hazel trees). These trees are native throughout Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia but are grown for commercial production in Oregon here in the States.
That vine is what brings this stick together. It wraps around the hazel wood ominously. The vine is a ‘honeysuckle twist.’
Honeysuckle are arching vines comprising 158 known species across the globe but primarily in North America, Eurasia, and North Africa. While it isn’t clear which species of honeysuckle is winding around this stick, this woodworker’s ability to effortlessly mold the stick and vine to his needs is incredible.
Why Is This Stick Going So Viral?
If you made it all the way to the end of the video, and I hope you did, you might already know the answer to the question above. After putting the finishing touches on the stick, he announces that he will sell/trade it and asks for offers.
The comment section is filled with people offering up KitKat bars and other items. It is a very clever way for him to juice engagement on a video and drive interest from people who would already be interested in the content. It’s kind of brilliant actually. So far the best offer I’ve seen is from someone who said “I offer three goats, a bag of holding, and a pre-owned spell book.” I offered to trade him my John Cena autographed Coors Light can.
