Hailee Steinfeld recently admitted that she was surprised by the reaction to some of her raunchiest moments from her hit movie Sinners, which is gearing up for a press campaign as it expects to compete for numerous Academy Awards.

In the Ryan Coogler directed Sinners, Hailee Steinfeld starred as Mary, the love interest of Michael B. Jordan’s character Stack. That dynamic lead to numerous steamy moments throughout the film, may of which went viral on social media.

“Then you stuck your tongue in my cooze and f—– me so hard I thought you’d changed your mind,” Steinfeld’s Mary says early in the film.

“So you can rob banks and trains but you scared to steal this p—- for one night,” she tells Stack during the second act.

In addition to those steamy lines, there was also a scene that saw her spit into the mouth of Jordan — which was reportedly filmed practically, with Steinfeld putting a syrup in her mouth and actually dropping it into Jordan’s.

Sinners actress Hailee Steinfeld claims that she was surprised by the reaction to her viral raunchy moments in the movie

Steinfeld, however, claims that she could not foresee those moments gaining such traction.

“No, you don’t — you can’t — it’s always so wild to see what takes off. That’s what was exciting: seeing the reactions to it,” Steinfeld told Variety.

Steinfeld’s viral moments in Sinners also led to her husband, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, taking some playful stick on social media.

“An underrated awesome part about Sinners is Josh Allen probably haaaaated watching it,” one viral tweet joked.

“Josh Allen is the strongest person on earth I would’ve thrown up and cried all the way to bathroom,” another added.

“Josh Allen is one of God’s strongest soldiers they had Hailee in a full blown freak mode in this movie,” a third summarized.

At the 2026 Academy Awards, Sinners is expected to earn nominations in numerous key categories, including even a potential second Best Supporting Actress nod for Hailee Steinfeld.
