Unless you have been living under a rock for the past week you have undoubtedly been introduced to the Hawk Tuah Girl meme by now, a meme that seems to have pushed the limits of the Speed of Information, the rate at which information can be spread around the world.

Hailey Welch, aka the ‘Hawk Tuah Girl,’ spawned memes that went viral in a way that hasn’t been seen on the Internet in quite some time. It began with a ‘man on the street’ style interview in Nashville with Tim & Dee TV where the interviewer asks Hailey Welch “What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?”

Her response has already been cemented in the Internet Hall of Fame. Hailey Welch said “Awwww, you’ve got to give him that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang, you get me?”

As everyone knows well by now, the explosion of Hawk Tuah Memes has been unprecedented. I’ve included some below. But I was fascinated by this clip from Joe Rogan on JRE where he himself is amazed by the speed the Hawk Tuah meme exploded and how far it traveled.

Rogan himself is one of a handful of people on the Internet who can really grasp how far and fast information travels on the Internet. His words and clips get shared by hundreds of millions of people every month.

The Hawk Tuah Memes Are Everywhere

He’s in awe of how quickly this “one weird video” is so funny it gets seen by the entire world almost overnight, undoubtedly leading to millions of awkward conversations where people had to explain Hawk Tuah memes to someone in their lives who had/have no business knowing. Here is Joe Rogan talking about the Hawk Tuah Girl, Hailey Welch, and the memes that have been spawned from her clip. There is some colorful language in this video so be forewarned:

It is also worth noting that few people on the Internet have ever been able to capitalize on their viral success as quickly as the Hawk Tuah Girl did. She quickly inked a deal with Fathead Threads in Belfast, Tennessee to sell official Hawk Tuah merch along with autographed trucker hats:

What do we really know?

The speed at which misinformation surrounding her spread is also worth mentioning. After the video exploded and the Hawk Tuah memes took off, there was a mad dash to discover who she was.

There were several viral videos on TikTok who mistakenly identified the Hawk Tuah Girl as someone who wasn’t her. Then once her real name was discovered there has been an explosion of fake Instagram accounts in her name and these accounts are racking up tens and tens of thousands of followers by the day.

Don’t believe me? Go search ‘Hailey Welch’ on Instagram and you’ll find a few thousand imposter accounts all with growing numbers of followers. ‘haileywelchofficiall’ has 7,366+ followers. hailey_welch93 has 47K+ followers. halieywelch23 has 41K followers. All of these accounts are suspect in nature and all of them are seeking to capitalize on this girl’s viral fame by luring people into following them before the world figures out which account is the real Hailey Welch of Hawk Tuah meme fame.

I wouldn’t be doing my job as the resident BroBible meme guy, the one who shares a daily roundup of 50+ memes every morning, if I didn’t at least bring you all some of the latest and greatest Hawk Tuah Girl Memes from the past few days.

Chance of a Hawk Tuah Girl Meme in Happy Gilmore 2? Never say never:

Trucks are getting wrapped:

Ultimately, I hope Hailey is able to capitalize on her viral fame before the thousands of scammers pretending to be her across Instagram do because it will be a shame if this rare gem of a moment is stolen by bad actors overseas.
