“This was especially gratifying as the streamer ‘made such a big commitment to this show’ by filming all the books and it was a ‘financial investment we normally wouldn’t make.'”

“It’s just very special working on something that means that much. There’s a lot of pressure, but it’s also very, very special… The world that has been created is absolutely extraordinary,” HBO Max head of original programming Sarah Aubrey told Variety.

Specifically, HBO is reportedly spending $100 million PER EPISODE on the series, which they have planned to run for seven seasons (one season for each year at the school).

HBO’s Harry Potter is set to star Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout as Harry, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively.

Additional cast members include to Paapa Essiedu as Snape, Nick Frost as Hagrid, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, and Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall.
