Ingrid Andress butchered the national anthem at the Home Run Derby on Monday night. However, her awful performance during MLB All-Star Week is not indicative of her true talent!

Breland offered a strong defense of his friend and colleague after many duets together.

Although the laugh-inducing national anthem may not have provided any insight into who Andress is as an artist, she is a country music singer and songwriter. The 32-year-old hails from Michigan, dropped out of Berklee College of Music, moved to Nashville and signed a publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music and Arthouse Entertainment in 2014.

Andress’ biggest hits as a solo artist are ‘More Hearts Than Mine,’ ‘Lady Like’ and ‘Wishful Drinking’ with Sam Hunt. Her voice is very distinctive. It cuts through the mold.

The haters were out in force on Monday night and it was warranted. Andress’ performance of The Star Spangled Banner might’ve surpassed Fergie as the worst of all-time.

Although a lot of the negative chatter was justified, most of the people who chimed in likely were not familiar with the well-decorated artist. She has won a lot of awards in the country music space. She received three Grammy nominations for Best Country Song, Best Country Album and Best New Artist.

Andress was the only country artist in a ‘Big Four’ category that year!

So, yes, Monday was rough. But one bad night should not define her— even if it was as brutal as it was.

I have seen Andress live on multiple occasions. Never once did my ears start to bleed. In fact, I greatly enjoyed her performances!

Breland, the best raw vocalist in Music City, has a track with Ingrid Andress. ‘Here For It’ is a banger.

He stood up for his duet partner on Tuesday after the internet (understandably) jumped all over her.

If you don’t know Breland, you should. Not only is a great artist and songwriter, he is a great judge of talent. For him to go out of his way to have Andress’ back speaks wonders!
