The people of Ireland are getting their first taste of Tennessee during the summer. They are completely blindsided by the weather.

Irish men and women are very frequently caught in the rain while frolicking the streets of Nashville.

An primary school teacher recently traveled across the pond with his wife for their honeymoon. “Mr. KWD” was shocked by how fast the skies can turn from sunny and blue to cloudy and grey.

Nashville weather is so unpredictable! You never know if you are going to get sun, rain or thunder and lightning! But I guess there is nothing wrong with dancing in the rain! #nashville #nashvilletn #nashvilletennessee #honeymoon #summer #weather #fyp

And don’t get him started about the heat and humidity!

@mrsirkwd

Nashville heat is absolutely insane! My body is not dealing with the heat and humidity all that well! Everytime I go outside, I start to sweat, the only good thing is the music and bars are decent! #nashville #hooneymoon #teacher #teachersoftiktok #summer #fyp

Mr. KWD is not the only person dealing with this international weather culture shock. They don’t know what hit them when they get off of the plane.

Is the weather different in Ireland?

The temperature in Nashville currently sits at 94º with 54% humidity for a real feel of 108º in the sun at the exact time of this writing. It feels like I am walking into a bowl of soup when I step outside of my front door.

On the flip side, the current temperature in the capital city of Northern Ireland is only 62º — but humidity is way up over 70%. Mr. KWD’s friends pushed back on his weather report with that in mind.

“That’s any day in Ireland,” said @usercc8469.

“awk sure it’s like being back at home 😂😂,” quipped Stacy Everitt.

“It is no better back home trust me,” joked Donna Jeavons.

Mr. KWD had to put them in their place.

“Then there’s the thunder and lightning that comes outta nowhere, Nashville is crazy,” he replied. That 22-degree gap obvious makes it feel very different. They just don’t get it.

Why are there so many Irish people in Nashville?

This international takeover of Lower Broadway stems from a recent partnership with Aer Lingus. The airline company offers four flights per week from Dublin to Nashville on the the Airbus A321neo, which can seat 180-244 passengers. It alternates days, excluding Sundays.

  • Depart DUB at 2:05 p.m. —> Arrive BNA at 5:10 p.m.
  • Depart BNA at 6:40 p.m. —> Arrive DUB at 8:50 a.m. (next day)

The partnership gives Nashvillians more access to Europe. Not only can they more easily vacation in Ireland, they can use Dublin as a stopover for other flights.

The partnership also a large number of Irishmen and women their first opportunity to experience the country music capital of the world. It has been nothing short of chaos.

Irishmen in particular are wreaking havoc on Music City with their rampant partying. They are at the bars with their shirts off before the clock hits noon. And they are the only ones at the bar in the first place!

It is a dangerous combination for the people of Ireland to drink all day in the scorching heat. It gets even more crazy when the random rainstorms arrive out of nowhere!
