A video gamer who was so hyped for the release of Ghost of Yotei that he traveled to the mountain and Japan and hiked it in order to “immerse” himself in the culture of the game. Ghost of Yotei is the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2020 Sucker Punch Productions game Ghost of Tsushima.

The Japanese media outlet Famitsu says they sent their editor to climb Mount Yotei in Hokkaido region of Japan, which is the setting of the popular action-adventure video game that released on October 2.

Ghost of Yotei  is set in 1603 in Ezo, Japan, and follows the story of Atsu, an onna-musha —  female warriors in pre-modern Japan who were members of the bushi (warrior) class — seeking vengeance against the “Yotei Six” for slaughtering her family sixteen years prior.

Famitsu shared a video of the editor’s adventure — which they say took four total days, including a seven-hour hike each way at Mount Yotei — on their YouTube page, which you can watch below.
