If the allegations in the federal indictment against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs are true, then he is one allegedly evil dude. And by the sound of the recently unsealed indictment, Combs has been that way for a while.
Now in the custody of authorities and sent to prison without bail while he awaits trial, the 54-year-old producer and rapper has been accused of “decades” of “verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual” abuse. Combs has been formally charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
If convicted on those three charges, Diddy faces up to life in prison, and a minimum of 15 years.
“For decades, Sean Combs, the defendant, abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct,” the official indictment claims.
“To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multifaceted business empire that he led and controlled, creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
Not only has Diddy been allegedly criminal for so long, but he’s also been a well-connected celebrity for much of that time, too, meaning his relationships with other celebrities will now be looked at in a different light. One example is the reaction of Jennifer Lopez’s mother when his name was mentioned during a 2015 interview on The Wendy Williams Show.

Lopez and Diddy dated from 1999 to 2001 and was with him when she wore the famous green Versace dress to the Grammy Awards. Diddy is famously just one of the celebrities that Lopez has been romantically involved with during her career, as she was most recently married to Ben Affleck from July 2022 to August 2024. The pair had also previously dated in the early 2000s for a few years after her split with Combs.
Diddy — who has gone by monikers such as Puffy, Puff Daddy, P Diddy, and Diddy over the years — was taken into custody by authorities in New York City on Tuesday, September 17, and has pled not guilty to the charges against him.
The federal indictment alleges, among many other crimes, that Combs would force both male and female sex workers to engage in days-long parties called “Freak Offs.” When raiding his home, federal authorities found “thousands” of bottles of baby oil.
