Podcaster Joe Rogan has become the latest prominent person who has previously aligned himself with Donald Trump to publicly criticize his comments about the murder of Rob Reiner.
Following the likes of actor James Woods, Republican Senator John Kennedy, and Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Joe Rogan is the latest right-leaning celebrity to break rank with Donald Trump over his comments about Rob Reiner, who was murdered alongside his wife Michele Singer by their son Nick Reiner.
Just a day after news of Reiner’s murder broke, Trump immediately politicized it and suggested that he was killed because of his opinions of the President.
“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump posted on social media.
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
Joe Rogan tells Shane Gillis that Donald Trump’s reaction to the murder of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer was “crazy”
During a recent episode of his podcast alongside comedian Shane Gillis, Joe Rogan called Trump’s comments “crazy” and “not funny.”
“It’s so disappointing. It’s like why? If you say that privately that’s one thing, which is also crazy, but it’s so disappointing,” Rogan said on his podcast to comedian Shane Gillis.
“The Rob Reiner thing is not funny. When you see it with no empathy, that’s when it’s hard to like. Listen, there’s no justification for what he did that makes any sense in a compassionate society. It’s no different than people that were celebrating when Charlie Kirk got shot. It’s the same kind of thing,” he continued.
“Imagine if Obama tweeted something about someone after they died in this way. That this person was a deranged person that hated Obama It just shows you how crazy it is, the way Trump thinks and talks. It’s just like, the guy got sliced up by his kid, you know? Anybody that doesn’t see that and go, ‘F—, man.’”
Reiner’s 32-year-old son Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree homicide and is being held without bail as he awaits trial.
