Now that the likes of Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and Deadpool are fully in their control, Marvel Studios is undoubtedly already in the midst of figuring out how to handle all three extremely popular (and lucrative) properties.
Whether it be how to introduce them into the already sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe or who they will attempt to cast in these various iconic roles, those in charge at the House of Mouse have tons of decisions to make before these films make their way to the silver screen.
That said, based on the rumors that have been coming out of the industry in the months following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, there’s no doubt that Marvel Studios will be integrating the legendary likes of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four sooner rather than later, as casting rumors for both of these quintessential superhero teams have already begun to come out.
According to Cosmic Book News, not only are both the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Marvel Studios is rumored to be eyeing John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt for the roles of Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
With Spidey back in the MCU, rumors are starting to fly which includes that Kevin Feige wants to use the Tom Holland Spider-Man in a Fantastic Four movie that may also involve actor John Krasinski. The rumor comes from the Lords of the Longbox YouTube channel who offers that Reed Richards will be Peter Parker’s new science mentor, as Tony Stark has died in The Avengers: Endgame and is no longer around.
It’s said connecting Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four has already been teased as the former Avengers Tower will be the Baxter Building, and not Oscorps Tower, which was falsely rumored.
Cosmic Book News was also told by insiders that a way the Fantastic Four may debut in the MCU is that they have been a part of the MCU since the beginning, as in the 70’s they disappeared in the Negative Zone and reemerge in the present day not having aged. [Cosmic Book News]
The reports of Krasinki and Blunt being eyed for the Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman is nothing new, as the pair have long been rumored to be both a dream casting duo for both Marvel Studios and their fans. Not only are the two married in real-life and share obvious on-screen chemistry, but they just look like Reed and Sue.
Whether or not Marvel Studios ever land Krasinski and Blunt for their frankly perfect is yet to be seen, but given their apparent intent on getting a deal done, there’s no real why the pair wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to jump at a Marvel Studios check, especially if they mess around as offer Krasinski directing duties as well.
