- Pete Davidson apparently reached out to Kanye West.
- Davidson allegedly sent Kanye a selfie captioned “in bed with your wife.”.
- West has since responded to the texts on Instagram
This is a very Karen statement of me, but since we’re all in the trust tree, I’m going to say it anyway: I’ve actually been deleting Kanye West’s music from my Spotify account. Only his first four albums remain — everything else has been scrapped. Why? Because I can’t stand the dude and get legitimately angry whenever his (non-classic) music pops up in the headphones. Just can’t do it anymore. I’m creeping up on 30 these days so I’ve got to start taking care of my cardiovascular health.
Conversely, though, despite my distaste for him, I’ve written about Kanye quite a bit over these last few months, as the man is undeniably — and perhaps, on my part, a bit hypocritically — a content machine.
Seemingly every day, Kanye is either releasing a disturbing music video or having a meltdown on social media or popping up at a sporting event to avoid smiling into the camera, and this past weekend was no different.
On Sunday, we brought you the news of Pete Davidson’s friend Dave Sirus sharing — and then deleting — an alleged text message exchange between the 28-year-old SNL comedian and the 44-year-old Donda rapper. In response to those texts, which saw Davidson tell Kanye that he was “in bed with his wife”, Kanye posted a response on Instagram, stating that Davidson is antagonizing him. Similarly, West has also deleted his posts.
“At this point, it’s going too far,” he said. “The boyfriend texts me, antagonizing me, bragging about being in bed with my wife. He texts me, talking about bragging about how he’s in bed with my wife. And it’s like, well, who’s watching my children?” He added, “Kim gets Black people out of prison, you know who puts them in prison? The person that the boyfriend has a tattoo of,” which is a reference to Pete’s tattoo of Hillary Clinton. [via Uproxx]
Now that Davidson has publically responded to Kanye, it’ll certainly be interesting to see where the increasingly erratic rapper takes the beef from here.
