They say you can manifest your reality, and that’s certainly true for Academy Award nominated actress Kirsten Dunst. Less than a year after saying she’d like to star in Minecraft 2 to “make a pile of cash.”

While she was promoting her film Roofman last year, Kirsten Dunst said down for a length interview with Town & Country and joked about one day starring in a movie where she doesn’t lose money.

As Town & Country put it, “she’d also really like to be in Minecraft 2, she says, because her kids loved the first one and because she’d like to make a pile of cash.

“Maybe I can just make a movie where I don’t lose money?” was the veteran Spider-Man actress’ exact quote.

Kirsten Dunst has been cast in the sequel to Minecraft after saying in an interview she’d like to be in Minecraft to make a bunch of money.

Fast forward to today and her paycheck dreams have come true, as news broke that Dunst has been cast in the sequel to the nearly billion-dollar-grossing Minecraft.

According to reports, Dunst has been cast as Alex, one of the primary avatars in the Minecraft game. Teased in the post-credit scene of A Minecraft Movie, Alex is essentially the female equivalent of Jack Black’s Steve.

“While the sequel’s plot is being kept deep in the mine, the first film introduced viewers to four misfits — Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Brooks) — who find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld, a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.” [via Deadline]

Dunst will be joining the returning cast of Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Matt Berry and Jennifer Coolidge in the Minecraft sequel, which is currently dated to hit movie theaters on July 23, 2027.
