Reality TV star Kylie Jenner released her first single as a singer in a collaboration with the pop group Terror Jr on Monday. It’s called “Fourth Strike” and it’s definitely a thing that happened.
The song is a follow-up to the song “Three Strikes,” also by Terror Jr, which appeared in a Kylie Cosmetics commercial in 2016. At that time, Kylie Jenner denied rumors that she was the lead singer of the group. Now, apparently, she is, at least for one this one song, as she has created Spotify and Apple Music profiles under the moniker King Kylie.
The new single was released in celebration of Kylie Cosmetics’ 10th anniversary. In addition to the lyric video, Kylie Jenner also released a trailer associated with the debut of the single that shows what happened to her and and her friends when they sped off in the music video for “Three Strikes.”
“One strike, two strike, let me get the mood right/I just wanna tell you, ‘I’m sorry’/Touch me, baby, tell me I’m your baby,” Kylie Jenner sings (along with a heaping helping of autotune) in the new “Fourth Strike” music video. “Write your name all over my body/Cross the line, I might do it again/Do it on purpose just to see how it ends/King Kylie.”
Kylie Jenner’s first single is a little polarizing
Reactions to the “Fourth Strike” on social media ranges from one end of the spectrum to another.
“Kylie is single handedly bringing back 2016 and I’m so here for it,” one fan wrote on YouTube.
“Kylie Jenner being a POP STAR in 2025 was definetley [sic] not on my bingo card, but I’m here for it,” another person commented.
“No one understands how iconic this truly is,” read another comment.
Meanwhile, over on X (Twitter)…
“This has to be a social experiment,” someone commented.
“Take the auto tune off,” read another comment.
“Are you seriously telling me there are people who listen to this trash?” another person asked.
I don’t know about all that. It’s definitely giving me some McKayla Maroney “Covid Lockdown” vibes.
