‘I Knew Something Was Up’: New York City Man Plays Rec Ball With Wealthy 70-Year-Old At LA Fitness. Then He Makes Him An Offer He Can’t Refuse

Wealth isn’t distributed evenly in the system we currently live in. A small percentage of the population holds riches that most people can’t even dream of.

In fact, according to the World Inequality Report for 2026, the world is “extremely unequal.” It found that currently, the top 10% of the population worldwide earns more income than the remaining 90% combined.

Additionally, half of the world’s population holds only 10% of the entire global income.

Because they are so few in number and tend to socialize within their own class, the elusive rich person isn’t someone you meet every day.

Giving his audience a glimpse into what a wealthy family’s dynamic might be, New York City-based TikTok creator Uno (@unoreloaded) shared a storytime about his new wealthy rec ball friend, and an offer that led him to learn more than he bargained for. His video is trending with over 147,400 views.

So What Was The Offer?

“Why the f— did nobody tell me what’s happening in these rich people’s homes?” he begins. “Because what I saw was something I will never f—— forget.”

Uno shared how he got to meet his new friend.

“I was playing LA Fitness basketball maybe about three months ago at 6am,” he says.

One day, Uno says he ended up on the same team with “Jim,” an older man in his 70s, playing against two other strangers. After playing for a while, Jim supposedly complimented the way Uno plays, and they won that game together.

The interaction doesn’t stop there. “After the game, he came up to me and started saying things I didn’t think Jim would say,” he recounts.

Uno says Jim asked him an unusual favor: to watch his kids over the weekend as he was spending it in the Hamptons with his wife. “Jim, we’ve only been hooping together for a few months. You sure, man?” Uno says he responded.

Then came the offer he couldn’t refuse: $1,200 for the weekend. After hearing that, Uno says he immediately accepted.

Noticing his BMW, Uno says he asked Jim what he does for work. “I have an old business,” Jim reportedly tells him. “It’s family-run… Old oil money.”

After that, Uno says they agreed to meet at Jim’s house on a Friday at 7pm to get the rundown and a tour of the home.

It’s No Ordinary Home

Upon arriving, Uno says he was stunned. “Gang, that s— was a mansion,” he exclaims. “Do you know what Drake’s house looks like? Think of Drake’s house.”

Uno describes the mansion as having a wraparound driveway, “fat pillars,” a massive pool, complete with a fountain in the front yard. The host greeted him wearing a silk Louis Vuitton and invited him in.

“As I’m looking through this mansion house, two staircases spiraling up into the second floor, I see his kid there holding the rails on the second floor,” Uno recounts.

The boy, whom Uno guessed was about 12 or 13 years old, was staring at him with a surprised look on his face, “like he’s never seen a f—— Black guy before.”

Uno says Jim shared that the boy was adopted after he and his wife had trouble conceiving. After getting the rundown, with the only instructions being to make sure that he “eats every 12pm and 4pm,” Uno says he decided to explore the house.

Eventually, he reached the boy’s room. “I see the door of this kid’s room cracked open slightly, and I hear music going off on the inside,” Uno says.

The Plot Thickens

What he found inside surprised him. The boy, whose name is Tyler, was sitting in front of his gaming setup, complete with a PC, curved dual monitors, and an LED keyboard, except there was nothing else in the room. Only a mattress on the floor.

“Why is your bed on the ground?” Uno recounts asking. “He’s like, ‘My dad doesn’t pay for anything.’”

Uno then asks him how he could afford that “sick a** setup.” He reportedly responds, saying, “I make my own money.”

He eventually gets to meet Jim’s wife, too, who he describes as a “gorgeous, 24-27-year-old Thai or Filipino [or] Vietnamese woman.”

“And then it clicked,” he says. “Jim, he’s a passport bro.” For context, a “passport bro” is a man who travels abroad to look for romantic partners, believing he’ll have better luck there than at home.

According to Uno, Tyler explained that Jim refuses to pay for anything related to him because the decision to adopt was his mother’s, and he’d “do anything for her.”

Inquiring further about how Tyler is able to afford the gaming setup he’s got, Uno learns that he makes money through an app called ‘Relay.’

“They give you content that you upload for brands,” Tyler supposedly tells him. “You make like 500 to like two grand every month.”

Commenters React

In the comments section, viewers praised Uno’s storytelling skills.

“Bro this is PEAK storytelling, I was locked tf in,” one user wrote.

“Jim rich rich you should’ve said 2k,” suggested another.

Others noticed the ad. “A crummy commercial?” one commenter asked.

Are The Events Factual Or Made Up For Entertainment Purposes?

While doing a quick rundown of Uno’s TikTok account, it becomes clear that these elaborate stories frequently end in some kind of ad for an app, such as the one he mentioned in this story, Relay.

For example, in a video he titled “Adults Mental Problem,” he shared the story of his friend Jackie, who is struggling emotionally and eventually gets her life together using the app Whop.

In another clip, he tells the story of 12-year-old cousin Mikey, who he says grew up too fast because of the internet. Eventually, the story lands on Relay again, the app Mikey supposedly uses to make $2000 a month.

This pattern does bring into question the credibility of his stories, but we’ve reached out to Uno via TikTok messages for clarification on whether the events are factual.
