Todd Gurley And Clay Matthews Claim The Rams Aren’t Paying Them And Owe Them Money

Oh how quickly the mighty have fallen.

Just two short years ago,it seemed as though the Los Angeles Rams were on the cusp of a dynasty, as their roster was not only loaded with talent, but it was loaded with young talent: this was a team on the rise.

That sort of came true, as the Rams would go 13-3 that season and make it all the way to Super Bowl LIII against the New England Patriots. Unfortunately for the Rams and there fans, though, that’s exactly when the presumed dynasty began to look less certain.

Sean McVay’s previously-heralded offense only put up three points against the Patriots and the following season — last year — the team regressed to 9-7, finishing third in the NFC West and missing the NFC Playoffs entirely.

That slip in form caused the Rams to undergo some offseason changes, as they’ve seen previous stalwarts such as Dante Fowler, Greg Zuerlein, Clay Matthews, and Todd Gurley depart from the squad. Oddly enough, though, according to two of those guys — Matthews and Gurley —  the Rams actually still apparently owe them some money.

First Gurley, who is now with the Atlanta Falcons, tweeted at the Rams saying they were “past due” and to “send me money ASAP”. Then Matthews piggy-backed on Gurley’s tweet, saying that he, too, is waiting on some money from the NFC West club.

While the nation is currently in the midst of a pseudo-recession, that’s absolutely no excuse from the Los Angeles Rams, who are owned by billionaire Stan Kroenke, who is reportedly worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 billion.
