‘Chronic Flight Misser’ Shows Up to LAX 2 Hours Early. Then She Misses The Flight In A Whole New Way

A woman admitted she has a bad habit of missing flights in creative ways. However, she unlocked a new way to miss boarding after she got to the airport two hours early and decided to get some food.

In a video with over 1.1 million views, TikToker Mackenzie (@themackenziepalmer) stands outside a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). She opens up about previously missing several flights, including arriving at the airport two days after her scheduled trip by accident.

However, she was intent on not missing her next flight. She arrived two hours prior to the scheduled departure.

“I think I got so much time in the world. Imma get me a little bit of food. I get me some Panda Express,” she says. “I open up TikTok. I’m scrolling.”

She enjoyed her meal with some “non-verbal time” scrolling on social media. Then she realized there was just 15 minutes left until her flight takes off.

“I’m like, ‘Oh s–. Let me go.’ Wrong terminal,” she continues. She realized the terminal her flight takes off from is about three stops from where she is. She sprinted through the airport, already knowing that the doors closed.

She eventually made it to the correct gate, and the agents told her the flight left.

What Happens If You Miss Your Flight?

According to travel planning site Kayak, what happens after you miss your flight depends on why you didn’t make it onboard.

Airlines must rebook passengers if it’s at fault for a delay that caused them to miss the flight. However, passengers may have to pay out of pocket if it’s their fault they arrived too late.

Some airlines may have a “flat tire” rule that gives grace to passengers who don’t make it in time due to unforeseen circumstances, Kayak notes, as long as they call the airline to let them know what happened.

Sadly, taking too long at the airport Panda Express likely won’t qualify for that exception.

Viewers Can’t Believe Her Pattern

Commenters on the viral video questioned why Mackenzie continues her pattern of missing flights, as the habit likely costs her time and money.

“Atp stop booking flights. you don’t wanna go no where fr,” a viewer joked.

“Bragging about wasting money is diabolical,” a second remarked.

“I missed one flight in 2016 and I still suffer the financial and psychological repercussions of that,” another added.

However, those who fly standby encouraged her to keep missing her flights so they can make it on board.

“As someone who only flys standby. i love people like you. keep doing what u doing queen,” one wrote.

Another said, “On behalf of all flight attendants flying standby, keep doing you babe!! Don’t let anyone stop you from missing those flights.”
