The mind-numbing culture war surrounding Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle campaign looks set to continue for another few days, as pop artist Lizzo has taken a shot at the actress in her new song ‘I’m Goin’ In Till October’.
Sydney Sweeney’s “Great Jeans” campaign has been politicized by conservative media and politicians after a small band of liberal social media accounts claimed the ads were promoting Nazism and eugenics.
Last month, American Eagle unveiled a new campaign with Sydney Sweeney in which she seductively talks about her jeans via puns, with one particular adding detailing how “jeans are passed down from generations” receiving particular attention.
While the campaign was likely conceived as being a simple cheeky reference to the fact that Sweeney has a famously great rack, a handful of brain-melted Twitter accounts conflated it into being a promotion of the Aryan race. Just writing that out sounds insane, yet here we are.
In the meantime, it’s been reported that Sweeney is a registered Republican, leading to the likes of Donald Trump and official White House social media accounts seizing the opportunity to further politicize the topic — yes, The White House tweeting about the star of Madame Web, which is a sentence that’s not even *that strange* in today’s world.
Thus, Lizzo adding additional fuel to the fire will likely have the exact opposite effect of what she’s intending.

Lizzo calls out Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ads in new song ‘I’m Goin’ In Till October’
“No kizzy, he ain’t got no business being with me. Fat a– pretty face with the t——. B—-, I got good jeans like I’m Sydney,” Lizzo raps in the song ‘I’m Goin’ In Till October’.
“In the second video, Lizzo opens with a clip of a cable news pundit doing a celebratory rant about the Sweeney ad, declaring, ‘We’re over this woke agenda. We are over the Lizzos, we are over the Dylan Mulvaneys. If this were a 300-pound non-binary person they would be applauding her.’ Then the video cuts to Lizzo lounging in head-to-toe denim, similar to the Sweeney ad. Lizzo commented on the video, ‘Lizzo’s got good jeans.'” [via THR]

Lizzo is arguably the worst person to be taking a shot at Sweeney, as she was one of the faces of the “body positivity” era that seems to be amalgamated into the ongoing culture war surrounding Sweeney and her “great genes.”
By weighing in on the debate, Lizzo is just exasperating the very notion that the right has latched onto into this fabricated culture war, and that’s, as Ted Cruz put it, that the “left hates beautiful women.”
Hence, the woman that was the face of “accepting the beauty in everyone” railing against Sweeney — the stereotypical American view of beauty, the type of blonde bombshell you’d see painted on the side of a fighter jet in WWII — only serves to make the point of those using the perceived backlash against Sweeney to amplify their political message.
Long story short, Lizzo has played right into her detractor’s hands.
