‘It’s Twisted’: Woman Says Longhorn Steakhouse Is Selling Commitment Rings. Uh, Is There Really Meat In Them?

Most couples go to a jeweler to get commitment rings to signify taking the next steps in their relationship. But restaurant chain Longhorn Steakhouse is confusing customers by offering the jewelry with a tiny steak as the center jewel as part of its Valentine’s Day menu.

In a video with over 212,000 views, TikToker Grandma Pam (@grandmapamsgroceryfinds) reacts to the steakhouse’s twist on a “rare gem.”

“What all this means, I have no idea,” she says. “The ring comes with a little piece of steak in it and some seasoning.”

She jokes that “if the apocalypse comes, you can eat your meat out of the ring.”

Some viewers in the comments of the viral TikTok question whether the special is simply a twist on “onion rings” rather than a wearable piece of jewelry.

“I was so f—— confused listening to this. Like a ring made OF steak? A ring that has steak inside of the band?? A steak with a ring inside of it? WHY,” one asked.

Another remarked, “I was shamefully far into this video before realizing you mean literal jewelry and not a rebranded onion ring.”

What’s In The Longhorn Steakhouse Commitment Rings?

While the idea sounds like a joke, Longhorn Steakhouse’s steak rings are actually real. And they cost $50 a piece.

Customers can choose from five different temperatures of “meat”: rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done. The band comes in two styles, including a more masculine and a feminine option.

However, the gem stones in the ring aren’t actually made of real meat. Instead, the gem stone color resembles the customer’s preferred temperature, according to Longhorn’s website.

The steak rings went on sale on Feb. 4 and quickly sold out.

Do Customers Like The Rings?

Some commenters say they actually love the look of Longhorn Steakhouse’s bizarre take on commitment rings.

“They went on sale on the 4th and they’re already sold out. but they’re not ugly in my opinion I’d wear it lol,” a viewer wrote.

“My new family heirloom,” another joked.

“I’m a vegetarian. Can I have a Blooming onion ring?” a third asked.

A fourth commenter said, “I kind of want one for myself can you just buy 1 ring? I’m single.”

Others lament that they weren’t able to score a ring before they sold out.

“HOW CAN THEY BE SOLD OUT ALREADY??!!?? Valentine’s Day is like 7 days away,” one exclaimed.

“I don’t want it but if I don’t get it for valentines I might just be pissed,” a second remarked.

Another wrote, “Torn between that’s DISGUSTING and aw mann they’re sold out already.”
