One of the latest viral food trends on TikTok is asking for Parmesan crust on just about every item on the menu at LongHorn Steakhouse.
While the restaurant officially offers the add-on for certain protein mains, customers have been pushing it further, requesting it on sides and even bread.
However, it may not be to everyone’s taste. One TikTok reviewer recently tried multiple dishes with the Parmesan crust and wasn’t impressed.
What Was Wrong With The Parmesan-Crusted Meal At LongHorn Steakhouse?
In his video, which has garnered over 43,800 views, Brailyn Gomez (@brailyngomez) tries several dishes, all with the Parmesan crust add-on.
“Longhorn worst experience,” he wrote in the video’s text overlay.
“This is my first time here,” Gomez begins. “I did get everything crusted. It seems a bit like extra crust.”
He then shows his plate, which is covered in melted cheese. “We got asparagus, salmon, and mashed potatoes,” he says. “So we’re gonna just dig in.”
He starts with the salmon. “I don’t really taste nothing in that bite,” he says, before trying it again and reacting more positively. “That was that bite.”
Next, he moves on to the mashed potatoes, which don’t leave much of an impression. “It’s cute,” he says. “I was expecting more.”
The standout ends up being the asparagus. “Asparagus—she No. 1,” Gomez says. “I ain’t gonna lie.”
He wraps up with a general takeaway. “The salmon is good. I like the way it’s cooked… it’s not overcooked,” he says, noting that the Parmesan crust works better there than on the potatoes.
“The parmesan-crust overpowers the mashed potatoes, but it’s good,” he adds.
According to Gomez, the balance works best with the vegetable side. “The asparagus is an even amount of the asparagus and the Parmesan crust,” he says.
Commenters Say The Order Was The Problem
In the comments, many viewers joked that the issue wasn’t the food itself, but how much of it was covered in Parmesan crust.
“Shoulda got the parmesan crusted water,” one person joked.
Others pointed out that the flavor might have been overwhelming. “Maybe you dont like it cus all u eating is bread crubs and cheese ?????” another wrote.
Some were more direct, saying the order itself didn’t make sense. “That’s on you not everything should’ve been crusted that don’t even sound good,” a third added.
What Do Other Longhorn Steakhouse Customers Think About Parmesan-Crusted Dishes?
Plenty of food creators on TikTok have shared their thoughts on the viral Parmesan crust, with many praising it when paired with the right dishes.
Reviews on platforms like Yelp show a similar mix. While the overall rating sits at around 2.9 out of 5, several customers still speak highly of the Parmesan-crusted items specifically.
One reviewer said their meal, which included a Parmesan-crusted filet and lobster tail, was “cooked to perfection,” adding that they would “recommend” the dishes overall. Another said the Parmesan-crusted chicken is consistently “tender and juicy,” with a “nice cheese crust on top.”
Others, however, had a different experience. One reviewer said their lamb chops were “burnt to a crisp,” adding that even the Parmesan crust on top was “burnt” and overpowering the dish.
