After years of being tucked way on AMC’s in-house streaming service AMC+, one of the network’s iconic series, Mad Men, has finally found a new, more widely-subscribed-to, home: HBO Max.
While Mad Men was on Netflix a decade or so ago, it’s been on AMC+ since 2020, which has likely lead to a sharp drop off in new viewers of the iconic series, which is widely considered to be one of the Mt. Rushmore TV series of the 21st century alongside The Wire, The Sopranos, and Breaking Bad.
Now that it’s on HBO Max, however, it’s likely to fine a ton of new fans — myself included, as I’ve never seen the series. It’s also, however, going to include some head-scratching errors, at least as far as the early returns indicate.
Mad Men has begun streaming on HBO Max but includes a few bizarre errors, including a production assistant manning a puke machine
After being added to HBO Max on December 1, fans immediately noticed some odd mistakes with the series, most notably the apperance of production assistants (PA) in the background of a scene in which John Slattery’s character pukes on the floor.
the new 4K transfer of mad men on HBO somehow does not have any of the post-production edits added in, which means you get stuff like this where you can see the crew member manning the puke machine after Roger has too many oysters lmao pic.twitter.com/HNgPRNOsla

That’s not the only apparent error, however, as another view claims the pilot episode is missing the key explanation of what “mad men” are.
Not as embarrassing, but the opening title card explaining the title “Mad Men” is missing from the pilot. https://t.co/ToOvXfElAq

The mistakes in the 4K transfer of Mad Men on HBO Max are emblematic
of a more widespread issue with society, and that’s a general carelessness with the way things are handled, particularly when it comes to technology (any plans on putting some restrictions on AI now that it can make photorealistic images of ANYTHING, US government?).
lol it rocks that everything is so sloppy these days in the rush to just put shit out lmao it’s insanely good actually https://t.co/lm5q1YadK5

It’s hilarious how haphazardly most 4k transfers are put out but what’s worse to me is just how every modern ‘upgrade’ just amounts to softening the white balance; murdering the original temperature (I know its unfair comparing to a photograph of a screen, but the point stands.) https://t.co/nvC5M5SZ9X pic.twitter.com/NVUCPNeE9v
