Mark Zuckerberg, a man who will forever be associated with smokin’ meats, has upped his game from a weekend warrior on the smoker to a full-time rancher overseeing a herd of the most delicious cattle on Planet Earth.

On Tuesday, the Meta CEO shared his incredible project with the world. Mark Zuckerberg detailed how he is raising wagyu and angus cattle at his Ko’olau Ranch on Kauai, Hawaii.

The Facebook co-founder revealed his ultimate “goal is to create some of the highest quality beef in the world.” Zuckerberg went on to say the cattle are being raised in style, saying they’ll “grow up eating macadamia meal and drinking beer that we grow and produce here on the ranch.”

The elaborate project is vertically integrated at his Ko’olau Ranch in Kauai. Zuckerberg explained that he wants “the whole process to be local and vertically integrated.” Saying that “each cow eats 5,000-10,000 pounds of food each year, so that’s a lot of acres of macadamia trees. My daughters help plant the mac trees and take care of our different animals. We’re still early in the journey and it’s fun improving on it every season. Of all my projects, this is the most delicious.”

Full stop. This is the coolest billionaire side-project I’ve ever heard about in my entire life. If I had unlimited resources and endless means at my disposal I’d be doing exactly this and my second project would probably be an offshore fish farm nearby for Surf-N-Turn.

Macadamia Nut Diet Impact On World Class Beef

It didn’t stop there. Replying to BroBible’s very own Publisher, Brandon Wenerd, Mark Zuckerberg discussed how the macadamia nut diet is expected to impact the Angus and Wagyu beef.

Brandon Wenerd asked “Wildly curious how macadamia meal changes the flavor profile of the beef compared to grass fed and other cattle feed sources? Sounds delicious! Also, beer? What kind of beer we talking about here?! So many questions!”

Mark Zuckerberg responded, saying “It’ll take a couple more years to fully explore how this diet affects taste, but at a minimum macadamia nuts are very high nutrition density with lots of proteins and fats. Beer helps induce appetite so they eat more as well.” Fascinating science at work. But Zuck’s response didn’t stop there.

He went on to say “There is some research on the affects of alcohol on relaxation and muscle tension, but I’m not convinced on that one way or another yet. Given the sheer volume of mac nuts and beer we’re talking about, it makes sense for us to vertically integrate and grow/produce ourselves. We’ll tune the beer to whatever they enjoy most over time. Of course they also graze on their pasture as well so getting the right nutrients in the soil still matters a lot. I have a lot more theories for how to improve this over time. Pretty sure this will be a lifetime hobby.”

If you eat steak it’s quite literally impossible to not get excited over an innovative project like this.

New Bucket List Item Added: Taste Mark Zuckerberg’s Beef

New item added to my lifelong bucket list: try one of the steaks from Mark Zuckerberg’s Ko’olau Ranch in Kauai.

This is almost certainly a pipe dream and I don’t foresee any realistic way that I’ll ever be able to try the most delicious beef on planet earth but I’m all about adding nearly-unattainable tasks to my bucket list forcing myself to reach for the stars.

Just look at the fat cap on the meat in that pic and tell me you wouldn’t move mountains to get your hands on Zuck’s beef. It looks divine.

And it sure looks like MZ has been living it up in Hawaii while rehabbing his ACL following surgery. Just yesterday he showed off a glorious trebuchet he built with some friends over the New Year holiday.
