The premiere of Bad Boys: Ride or Die took place in California over the weekend, and a particular clip from the pre-show festivities has sparked concern among movie fans.

While nothing has been confirmed and any comments about his health are purely speculation, a video of Martin Lawrence seemingly needing Will Smith’s help to walk has gone viral on social media.

Besides the Bad Boys films, Lawrence has only appeared in a handful of projects since 2011’s Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son: 2019’s The Beach Bum and 2022’s Mindcage.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah — who also helmed 2020’s Bad Boys For Life  — will be released in movie theaters in the United States on Friday, June 7.

In addition to franchise stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, Bad Boys: Ride or Die also stars Joe Pantoliano, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Jacob Scipio, DJ Khaled, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Rhea Seehorn, Melanie Liburd and Tiffany Haddish.

The Bad Boys franchise first began in 1995 with the release of Bad Boys, which was directed by Michael Bay, and was then followed by Bad Boys II in 2003 and Bad Boys For Life in 2020.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is just Will Smith’s second movie since infamously slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards, as he also starred in the late 2022 film Emancipation.

Check out the official synopsis and trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die below.

“When their late police captain gets linked to drug cartels, wisecracking Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett embark on a dangerous mission to clear his name.”
