Marvel Studios President Says They’ve Already Begun Planning The Next Big Crossover Film

Following the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe found itself in a position that the franchise hadn’t been in since the beginning: the ability to start anew.

With Thanos and the Infinity Saga officially wrapped up, the Marvel Cinematic Universe now finds itself with the exciting prospect of a clean slate.

Given that the “old guard” of Iron Man, Captian America, and Black Widow have since, for lack of a better term, retired, the MCU will turn to the likes of Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man to lead the franchise forward into the future.

And just because the “founding” Avengers are now gone does not mean that the team themselves are no more, as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently said that the next “master plan” involving the next generation of heroes is already underway.

“The MCU is all interconnected, but we really focus on one movie at a time. We’re going to make the best Black Widow movie we can possibly make, the best Eternals movie we can make, the best Shang-Chi, the best Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain Marvel, Black Panther… and keep evolving their stories. Then, yes, it is always fun to see them come together in a master plan. Which is, I promise you, well underway,” Feige said.

With all of Phase 4 — which begins in May with Black Widow — already laid out, it’s possible that fans can expect the next major Avengers-level crossover film to happen sometime after Phase 5 kicks off in 2022.
