Man Goes to McDonald’s. Then a Worker Offers Him Hunter Sauce—It’s Not Out Yet: ‘We Coming Out With a New Sandwich With a New Sauce. I Got Some in the Back’

The internet is known for showcasing “secret” McDonald’s menu items. A McDonald’s customer managed to get his hands on a whole new sauce without even trying.

Max Oddo (@maxxoddo) naturally shared his experience on TikTok.

In a TikTok filmed in his car, Oddo explained how he ordered a chicken sandwich with hot honey sauce. However, the server told him that they no longer did that sauce. But it wasn’t all bad news. The server then offered him the new sauce, even though, technically, it wasn’t out yet.

He then showed the viewers a small golden container labeled “Hunter Sauce.” “Ya’ll never seen this s— before, bruh? I ain’t tried it. Imma try it and let you all know, but what the f— is this?”

Commenters Speculated On The New McDonald’s Menu Item

According to commenters, Hunter Sauce is part of a new McDonald’s promotion based on the hit movie K-Pop Demon Hunters.

“I work at McDonald’s and I think it’s part of the K-Pop Demon Hunters meal coming out…” one wrote. “I know I seen in the back one box was labeled Sweet Chilli sauce and one is something like Purple Cajun sauce.”

A second said, “I hope K-Pop Demon Hunters never becomes irrelevant.” And a third referenced the film’s Oscar-winning song as they added, “GONNA GONNA BE GOLDEN.”

Elsewhere, a fourth commenter quipped that Oddo should “get ahead and cut a deal with their marketing team.”

Are The Commenters Right?

A K-Pop Demon Hunters x McDonald’s collaboration was initially announced on March 24. There are two new McDonald’s meals on offer, the HUNTR/X meal and the Saja Boys meal.

The former includes 10 chicken nuggets, Ramyeon McShaker fries, Hunter Sauce, Demon Sauce, and a medium soft drink. Hunter Sauce is described as “a sweet chili sauce mixing notes of chili, garlic and pepper with just enough heat inspired by HUNTR/X’s fierce, yet fun-loving personalities.”

Meanwhile, the latter is a breakfast meal that includes the Spicy Saja McMuffin, hashbrowns, and a small soft drink.

In a press release, Marian Lee, Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix, said: “KPop Demon Hunters has ignited an incredibly passionate global fandom, and we’re always looking for authentic ways to bring fans deeper into the worlds they love. With McDonald’s, we were able to turn the rivalry between The Saja Boys and HUNTR/X into something fans can actually experience, drawing inspiration from Korean culture and food traditions that sit at the heart of the film. From Ramyeon McShaker Fries to Demon sauces paired with Soda Pop, every detail was designed to feel like it could have come straight out of a scene in the movie.”

With its new food and secret menu items, McDonald’s has shown that it isn’t afraid to switch things up. This newest promotion, which was released on March 31, might be its most ambitious yet.
