A California woman ranted to her therapist that she couldn’t find a suitable partner from swiping on dating apps. She asked her therapist how she met her husband and decided to try the same method.
In a video with over 532,000 views, TikToker Annalise (@annalisesara) lies in bed, recounting a recent therapy session.
“I’m like, ‘Listen, I’m getting the feeling that I’m cooked. I’m getting the feeling that I may be single forever,” she says.
The TikToker admits to her therapist that she tries to use Hinge but was ghosted. According to a survey by Number Barn, around 72% of singles who use dating apps have been ghosted by a potential date at least one time.
She also says she has tried to meet men through friends but hasn’t found anyone she clicks with. So, she decided to ask her therapist a personal question.
“I was like, ‘How did you meet your husband?’ Because I’m invasive and I want to know about my therapist’s life,” she says. Then, her therapist gives her a dating suggestion she hadn’t considered.
Did Her Therapist Suggest She Meet Men At A Charity Event?
The therapist told Annalise she met her husband at a charity event.
“She was like, ‘You need to go to like galas and charity events because you’re not going to find any broke men there. These are very sophisticated, educated men that want to help change the world,'” the TikToker recounts.
Annalise says she plans to take her therapist’s advice and attend a gala.
Gala tickets range from a couple of hundred bucks for local charity events to tens of thousands for major events like the Met Gala, according to Business Insider. Ticket sales typically cover the cost of the event and a small portion of the final donation amount.

Do Other Women Plan To Ditch Apps For Galas?
In the comments, several viewers express their shock that the TikToker, who resembles Megan Fox with blue eyes and dark hair, has trouble finding a date.
“If you’re cooked.. we’re all cooked,” one wrote.
“If even Megan Fox is struggling, you know the dating scene is bad,” another joked.
Others say they immediately looked up charity events in their area to try Annalise’s therapist’s suggestion for themselves.
“Not me searching up ‘gala’ & ‘ charity event’ on maps,” a viewer admitted.
“Taking notes: gala and charity events, and galleries,” another wrote.
“Omg wait. I have a friend who runs galas and other philanthropist events. Never thought I’d do this, but I WILL be doing this,” a third said.
Some shared their own testimonials of ditching dating apps for in-person charity events.
“As someone who goes to Galas at least once a month this is very true especially in Real Estate,” a commenter shared.
“Unfortunately, those don’t work either. I go all the time for work and no one will approach you in that way. But I hope it eventually works,” a second said. BroBible reached out to Annalise via email for further comment.
